Up until now no one had any idea at all as to when the next generation console from Microsoft would be released. Microsoft have been very reserved as to details that they release about the new Xbox. However, senior Microsoft manager Brian Hall was being interviewed on The Verge’s podcast last week where he was talking about the launch of Outlook.com
During the interview he said that Microsoft would be releasing Outlook.com for a variety of new Microsoft products which included the ‘New Xbox’. A transcription of the part of the interview where he let it slip is below:
“We’ve had Hotmail and operated Hotmail for about sixteen years, we obviously have Exchange, and Outlook, that people use at work. We just decided it was time to do something new and bring the best from each of those and put them together and release it right in time for the new wave of products that we could have coming out with Windows 8 with the new version of Office with the New Windows phone and the new Xbox.”
While this provides us with no information at all about the new Xbox, it let’s us know that Microsoft themselves has in fact confirmed it!
